- If the booking photo is not online, send an open-records style request naming the person, booking or arrest date, case number if known, and the exact photo requested.
For court-file images, court orders, or criminal-history reports, use the court clerk or AOC channel. Those records are not the same as the jail's front booking photo. Charge follow-up, court dates, and sealing or expungement questions belong with court records after a jail arrest.
Grayson County Photo Fields

Photo availability varies by row. A missing thumbnail does not prove release, and a visible thumbnail does not prove the person is still in the same housing unit. Confirm current status with the jail before using the photo for any practical decision, visit, mail, bond question, or custody notification.
Grayson County Mugshot Law
Kentucky's Open Records Act framework begins with public-record definitions, and the Kentucky mugshot-specific statute is KRS 61.8746. The local rule is practical: booking photos shown on the Grayson County roster are visible while the roster publishes that person, but older photos, non-current photos, and photos not appearing online should be requested from the agency that holds the record. What Is Public
The public roster can show a booking-photo thumbnail, larger profile image, name fields, age, physical descriptors, charges, bond amount, date, and disposition. It does not document a separate public archive of past Grayson County mugshots. It also does not publish every possible law-enforcement record tied to an arrest. Jail records, sheriff incident reports, court case records, AOC criminal-history reports, KOOL offender records, BOP custody records, and ICE locator results each answer a different question.

The request should include the full name, date of arrest or booking, case number if known, date of birth if appropriate for identification, and a clear phrase such as "booking photograph" or "official inmate photograph." The Grayson County Sheriff's Office records page gives local report-copy instructions and lists a $5 report-copy fee for sheriff reports, but jail booking photos are a distinct record type. Keep the request narrow so staff can route it to the right custodian.
If the person was transferred out of local custody, use the correct locator instead of asking the county jail for a photo it does not control. Kentucky state custody uses KOOL. Federal prison custody uses the BOP inmate locator. Immigration custody uses ICE ODLS, which is a custody locator and not a mugshot source.
Grayson County Mugshot Removal

Federal ICE Photo Limits
Federal and immigration custody are common enough in Grayson County to matter, but the photo rules are different. Neither channel is a substitute for the county roster's booking photo field, and neither should be used to promise a federal or ICE mugshot.
